Error correction on Page 16 by Max Reed:

The correct way to write it is; "Whereas in traditional recirculation aquaculture systems a minimum water exchange of 5 to 10 % per day is used to avoid metabolic waste accumulation. (McMurtry 1997) In aquaponics systems up to 1,5 per day or less water exchange can be achieved with good management."

 

Error correction on Page 26 by Max Reed:

It says "modified the McMurtry´s system and separated fish and plants in two different areas" which is completely wrong, because iAVs (McMurtry's system) already had the plants and fish in two different areas. It then says " elevated trays with vegetables on sand substrates" and this is an even bigger error. The Speraneo's attended a workshop conducted by McMurtry in December 1989, and they modified his system by a) using gravel instead of sand, b) using continuous pumping, and c) adding a bell syphon. I co-wrote a book on this, alongside Dr. McMurtry.
